To commemorate one year since their son’s victory in Hawaii, the parents of late PGA Tour golfer Grayson Murray announced they have launched a foundation to help people with depression, anxiety and addiction.

Grayson Murraywho revealed he was prone to depression, committed suicide at the age of 30 in May last year after leaving the course two holes into the second round of the Charles Schwab Challenge.

Devastated by the sudden death of their son, Eric and Terry Murray created the Grayson Murray Foundation which aims to support those affected by mental health issues.

In a press release published ahead of Sony Open won by their son in January 2024, they declared: “Grayson touched the hearts of so many people by sharing his own mental health struggles. He has used his winning image on the PGA Tour to reach and inspire those in need and we are determined to continue his work and unwavering commitment to helping make a difference in the lives of others. »

The foundation based in Murray’s hometown of Raleighin North Carolinawill be run by his family.

Turning pro in 2015, he won two tournaments on the major American circuit and had three successes on the Korn Ferry Tour.
