Barely after the Rookie Test and his confirmation as Peugeot Sport test and development driver from 2025, Théo Pourchaire immediately embarked on the coming season with the Lion with a driving session at Paul Ricard with the 9X8.
The French driver was able to progress in the French LMH during a real Endurance session and thus better understand his new working environment.
“There are so many new parameters for me, whether it’s tire management, fuel management, pit stops, so many things I’ve never done before, that I feel like I’m progressing a lot. each time and at the same time still being very far from what I am capable of, emphasizes Pourchaire.
We drove at night. I had already done night F2 races, but with a lot of lighting, but this is completely different, we are almost in the dark with just the headlights to light us. It’s a different atmosphere. It was raining at the same time, around 2am so it wasn’t easy but it was a really cool experience. This gave me my first real taste of what Endurance is. »
In the seat, Théo Pourchaire was able to continue the discovery of the 9X8 on the track, an essential element in view of his work for 2025 and the simulator passages to come.
“It’s the first time I’ve driven this much I think, describes the Frenchman. It’s positive because I have a lot to learn, whether in working with engineers or mechanics. But I also have to learn to drive this car which is completely new to me. This is a car with a lot of systems and technology to get to grips with.
It’s good for me to be able to gain experience before the start of the season. When I go to the simulator, I could correlate my sensations with those experienced on the tracks in order to work with the team to further improve the car. »
Peugeot Sport will field a reshuffled driver line-up for 2025, with the departure of Nico Müller and the promotion of Malthe Jakobsen as starter, with a final distribution of crews to be revealed soon.
