Charleroi gains confidence before the restart by beating another D1A club – All football

Sporting Charleroi started the year 2025 as it ended 2024: by beating KV Kortrijk. The Zebras faced the Kerels in a friendly.

The last meeting of 2024 for Sporting Charleroi offered three precious points against Kortrijk via a new goal from Stulic, allowing the Zebras to finish the year closer to the top 6 than to the red zone. Enough to gain confidence after difficult months.

We do not know if the Carole management is superstitious, but in any case they wanted to start 2025 as they ended 2024. In a friendly match, the RCSC indeed faced KV Kortrijk again this Monday… and the Zebras once again took over the Guys, reports Sudinfo.

A match held in Tubize, and which Charleroi won with a score of 2 goals to 1 via goals from Oday Dabbagh and Isaac Mbenza. Enough to build confidence while a new attacker is one of Sporting’s priority targets this winter.

Charleroi resumes the championship against Union Saint-Gilloise this Saturday. The Zebras are currently 7th in D1A, 3 points from the top 6 and 4 points from the USG; a victory would be a big blow, while Rik De Mil’s men were still seen as a candidate for the Playdowns a few weeks ago.

For KV Kortrijk, the challenge is very different. The Flandrians are penultimate in the standings, 6 points ahead of Beerschot but stuck in the red zone with 5 points behind Westerlo, 12th. Yves Vanderhaeghe absolutely must straighten out KVK.
