The day of May 18, 2024 will remain in the memory of many Fleurantins and visitors as an exceptional sports celebration.
Passage of the flame
The Olympic flame visited Fleurance on May 18 for a day prepared long in advance by the municipal services. The flame village set up at the leisure park welcomed many associations happy to give demonstrations and offer initiations. The mayor tried his hand at various sports such as golf and beach tennis, sitting on the grass in front of the swimming pool.
Among the various activities, there was cecifoot (football for the visually impaired or blind). The AS Fleurance gym contributed to this festive day by presenting mini-trampoline and tumbling demonstrations to the large audience. The Olympic torch made a complete circuit of the city, initially welcomed with fanfare by Los Pagayos.
Culture was not left out with two shows offered by the cultural season and the presence of Arthéa who created a colorful fresco with the public on the wall in front of the pétanque.
Sports equipment
At the end of November, the municipality inaugurated the new sports facilities in Fleurance. Elected officials, financiers, municipal agents, citizens and athletes gathered for the official opening of the infrastructures of the François-Buerba space which is located next to the cultural and sports space and which hosts city-park, warm-up zone, course connected sport-health but also padel courts installed between the swimming pool and the tennis courts.
These facilities, developed thanks to the “Terre de jeux 2024” label, emanate from the city’s sporting political will and promote access to physical activity for all.

Primary and secondary schools have had dedicated events on various occasions.
