The Regional Sports League for people with disabilities in the Oriental, Fès-Meknes and Draa-Tafilalet regions held its ordinary elective general assembly for the 2023-2024 season. During this meeting, Adil Badreddine Essalbi was reappointed as president for a new four-year term, with a list of members of the governing office unanimously approved.
The assembly also validated the moral and financial reports, while unveiling an ambitious annual plan, focused on the development of sporting activities and the strengthening of organizational capacities. This program notably includes a regional football championship for the deaf, a regional pétanque championship, as well as training courses for athletics referees.
In his speech, Essalbi highlighted the importance of teamwork and mutual trust to meet the expectations of sports associations and affiliated athletes. He stressed the need for effective governance to ensure the sustainability and impact of projects initiated by the League.
Participants also praised the remarkable performances of Moroccan athletes during the last Paralympic Games in Paris, highlighting the crucial role of regional structures in the preparation and support of sporting talents with disabilities.
