Félix Lebrun at 11 years old: “The incredible goal would be to go to the Olympics”
In 2018, it is France 3 Languedoc Roussillon who is producing a report on the Lebrun brothers, when Félix and Alexis are 11 and 14 years old respectively.
The youngest of the siblings then reveals his ultimate dream: “The incredible goal would be to go to the Olympics, and the achievable goal is to be strong.” Little did he know then that he would achieve his “incredible goal” only 6 years later, and win two bronze medals for his first participation in the Olympic Games.
“He can beat the 250 among adultse French”, specifies the journalist in voice-over… Even though he is only 11 years old. Félix Lebrun reveals the secrets of his penholder racket grip Chinese stylewhich is characteristic of him and which very few European players perform.
“There was a Chinese man who was 30e world and who played with this grip, and when I was very little I wanted to be like him. I took this take and I liked it, so I continued,” he explained at the time.
Aware of his potential, his loved ones gave him 20 hours of ping a week during this period, and his school schedules were arranged so that he could reach the heights of his favorite sport.
