After a long interruption linked to the Euro, the domestic championship resumed on Saturday evening for the BBH, with this seemingly “easy” trip to Val-de-Marne. A priori only, given the delicate first minutes of Brestoises, in need of reference points, like Nocandy (returning from injury), who suddenly messed up several balls.
In its room full as an egg, Saint-Maur led from the start 4-1 (6′) thanks to the play deployed towards the wings on restarts from goalkeeper Lachat. The time-out then requested by Raphaëlle Tervel, just to refocus things, nevertheless bore fruit with renewed defensive application and winning runs for an equalizer at 5-5 (13′).
A 7-0 to end the half
Ignoring the hierarchy and the complexes, the Ile-de-France women did not give up, and recovered a margin in the 20th (10-7). A sort of “swan song” for the local club because, from there, the Finisterians signed a 7-0 to lead quite comfortably at the break 10-14! From goalkeeper André to international Foppa at the pivot, the BBH had raised the intensity cursor to overwhelm a rival unaccustomed to experiencing such a pace.
“Complicated to get back into it”
Returning from the locker room, same causes, same effects with new resistance from Saint-Maur until the 39th (16-19) and a new acceleration from Brest for a definitive 16-24 in the 45th. Coatanéa had in the process multiplied the winning runs in the right lane, in addition to Nocandy, who found himself facing the goal. The BBH thus arrived at + 11 (19-30, 52nd) for a freewheeling end. “It was complicated to get back into it,” admitted coach Raphaëlle Tervel. There was a lot of inconsistency and waste but the essentials are there. We will need more seriousness on Wednesday, against Dijon and then in the European Cup. »
