How are you experiencing this Tour?

“I’m quite happy with myself, even if I would like to win a knockout (during the first round of the final the jumpers compete one against one), because I find it a bit boring to be every time lucky loser. But what’s really good is that in Garmisch, I started to do good jumps, which are similar to those of last summer (two podiums in Courchevel) and that’s very positive. The Tour is really hard. You don’t have time to train or to rest. We start it just after Christmas and you can’t really celebrate the New Year because the next day you have a competition. It’s mentally tough, but it’s a great test and it’s really another level. »

What is your goal for the last two competitions?

“We laugh about it in the team because there are four people I wanted to avoid (in KO system) and I came across two of them. And a fifth that I wanted to meet, the Austrian Clemens Aigner, who I will face tomorrow (this Saturday). He had beaten me by not much at Stams (in the Continental Cup in September) and I wanted my revenge. Winning a KO is really the main goal of the Tour. The overall place is less important, even if I have a mini-goal which is to finish in the top 30.”

This winter, you only finished outside the top 30 twice. Do you feel like you’ve reached a milestone?

“Honestly, I think that this summer, the whole team made progress. We trained really well and I really saw a difference compared to my level. Mentally, I often asked myself a lot of questions when winter arrived and the disqualification (in Lillehammer, because of my combination) put me in a bad situation. mood because it was necessary to “secure” the suit. But here it comes back like I was jumping this summer. So yes, there has been good progress, but for the whole team. »
