The Acroroc de Saint-Pierre is full of thrill-seekers from 7 to 77 years old

Open every day during school holidays, the Saint-Pierre adventure park invites you to challenge the void through its numerous zip lines and cliff-edge courses.

The public aged 7 to 77, Islanders and tourists alike, love it. Especially since the park is only a few minutes from downtown Saint-Pierre.

Since its opening in 2017, Acroroc has been considered the largest adventure park on the island. Unlike other treetop parks in Reunion, the suspended courses do not run between trees, but in the heart of the rocky landscape of the Rivière d’Abord.

Listen to the report from Réunion la 1ère:

From extension to extension, there are now nine routes available for discovery. For this holiday period, seven of these courses are accessible.

This adventure sport proposition is more than intriguing, it is attracting more and more athletes, thrill-seekers, but also families. The park reaches its maximum capacity every day.

180 people come every day to use the footbridges, suspension bridges, monkey bridges and the famous zip lines passing over the pools and waterfalls. They are the ones who make the reputation of Acroroc Park.

If some admit to having “I les chocolates” When it’s time to get started, everyone says they’re delighted with the experience.

Norhen is coming for the first time and it won’t be the last, she promises:

“I feel like I’m flying, going on an adventure, and all that in safety, it’s great! And it’s more interesting to come with friends or family!”

Norhen, enthusiastic amateur adventurer

Each visitor is equipped with a harness, a helmet and two carabiners. The registered “Zaza” system provides a continuous lifeline which guarantees against falls. Once the carabiners are engaged, they slide along large steel cables which line all the routes. Impossible to fall, regardless of the difficulty encountered.

“As soon as we enter the course and we hang on, we stay hooked from the beginning to the end; the person who enters will never be able to break away”

David Payet, operator at Acroroc

Seven operators placed at different strategic positions watch over all the acrobats of the day. They provide their advice and expertise on an ongoing basis.

The easiest route can be done as a family with children from the age of 7, measuring at least 1.30m. This is the one chosen by Anne-Elie’s family. The little girl has been asking for access to the park since the age of 5; the day after his seventh birthday, this Friday, his parents Karen and Elie gave him this pleasure.

Why this craze? “Because there are zip lines!”Anne Elie bluntly replies, also a BMX champion. This is in fact another particularity of the Acroroc: all the courses have a zip line. The opportunity to test your relationship with emptiness and vertigo…

An activity for young and old.

Since July 2024, the most daring, a little older than Anne-Elie, also have access to the Violet Course, a 350-meter Mega Tyrolean. Finally, the Black Course, that is to say a Special Via Ferrata, is intended for the most seasoned athletes.

In addition to sportiness, the beauty and authenticity of the setting constitute one of the park’s essential assets. Many visitors also come to enjoy privileged contact with nature.

Allow between three and four hours to accomplish your feat. It is advisable to come in sports clothing, with good shoes and to bring a cap and bottle of water.

In view of the crowds, it is also strongly recommended to reserve.
