After two losses against the Knicks, Alex Sarr’s Wizards returned to victory, winning 125-107 against the disappointing Bulls. It’s their biggest victory of the season, and it took shape in the second period with 70 points scored!

Before that, Patrick Williams and Zach LaVine had gotten the best start to put the Bulls in front (14-11). Alex Sarr is good on the rebound and with his ability to spread the game, and we have to wait for the benches to open for the Wizards to let go. Well served by Malcolm Brogdon, it is Cory Kispert who gives the hand to the Wizards (27-22), and the Bulls will never manage to get back together.

You “hooray basket”

Billy Donovan joins the Ball-Giddey duo to bring creation, but Jonas Valanciunas does a lot of work under the two circles (38-30). Well recovered from his head shock, Bub Carrington puts it back on, and the gap reaches 11 points (43-32). Clearly, the Bulls are lacking inspiration, and only Coby White is surviving.

The Bulls leader delivers a great duel to Jordan Poole, and the two liven up the end of the first half. This wakes up LaVine, who takes the match into his own hands, but at the break, Washington remains in front: 55-51.

Returning from the locker room, Alex Sarr and Justin Champagnie walk around the Bulls defense. The Wizards let go and very quickly Poole gave 12 points in advance (70-58). On the Chicago side, there is no longer any defense, and it turns into “hooray basketball”. A scenario that corresponds to Jordan Poole’s basketball, and the Wizards ignite their audience with spectacular actions and skill. The gap stabilizes around 15 points, and when the Ball-LaVine duo brings Chicago back below 10 points, it’s Kispert who ignites from afar (91-80).

While the Bulls still believe in it, it’s Kyshawn George who will calm them down. At 3-points then with a dunk after an interception, the Swiss rookie increased the gap to +20 (104-84). LaVine, again, attempts a last stand, but Poole and Sarr sign a 9-0 to give some air to the Wizards, and allow them to win in a big way.

WHAT TO REMEMBER

– Bilal Coulibaly ill. If the French winger only played nine minutes, it’s because he is ill. Coulibaly tried to play, but after ten complicated minutes, his coach preferred to keep him warm.

– The Jordan Poole series. Much wiser than in past years, and comfortable alongside Malcolm Brogdon, Poole scored a 5th game in a row with 25 points or more. This is a first in his career.
