Yorik Treille and Rikard Franzen take the reins of the team on an interim basis. Both know the group perfectly since they were assistant coaches until now. Yorik Treille, who we recall, became head coach of the French team this year.

Press release from Genève-Servette

It is always very difficult to turn a page with a person with whom so many historical moments have been shared. Jan Cadieux is no longer the head coach of Genève-Servette Hockey Club. The results obtained over the past year and a half do not meet the Organization’s expectations, and the objective is not to further compromise this season. Despite the reinforcement of Antti Raanta or Oula Palve, the situation has not evolved in the right direction. The GSHC remains ambitious and determined to achieve its goals with the current team. It is important to emphasize that Jan Cadieux is not the only one responsible for these sporting results, which are lower than the Club’s aspirations and expectations. A strong reaction from the group is now expected in the remaining 23 games of the regular season.

The entire Genève-Servette warmly thanks Jan Cadieux for his dedication and passion for the team. Without his involvement, the historic titles of 2023 (National League) and 2024 (Champions Hockey League) would not have been possible. He will forever remain an important figure in the history of the Club.

From today, Yorick Treille and Rikard Franzén take the reins of the team ad interim. Both know the group perfectly since they were both assistant coaches.

Rikard Franzén (56 years old) arrived at GSHC during the 2021-2022 season, precisely when Jan Cadieux took charge of the team. He was also present during the Club’s historic titles. After a brilliant playing career, he began his coaching career in Sweden with AIK (2007-2014), before joining the Swiss championship, where he was assistant coach in Lausanne and Langnau between 2014 and 2020. He also worked as head coach at Langnau for a season before joining the GSHC. Rikard Franzén also collaborated with the Danish national team (2019) internationally.

Yorick Treille (44 years old) joined the team in the summer, during the 2022-2023 season. Since his arrival, he has won the Swiss and European championship titles with the GSHC. A talented former player, he wore the Club’s colors between 2005 and 2007. In 2018, he began his coaching career with in , where he remained for two seasons. At the same time, he became an assistant to the French national team and took charge of the French U20s. Between 2018 and 2023, he will participate in five world championships and a qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games. In 2024, he becomes the head coach of the French national team.

This duo represents an ideal blend of experience, freshness and ambitions. With them, the team will have to show a completely different face during this second half of the season.
