Visiting a press conference after his first victory of the season in the United Cup (6−4, 6–4 against the Brazilian Monteiro), Alexander Zverev spoke about his areas of improvement for the 2025 season. The German, who once again collaborates with trainer Jaz Green, explained that he had placed a lot of emphasis on physical work.
“I’m reunited with Jaz Green, who I worked with for seven years and with whom we separated for three years. For me, the physical aspect was without a doubt the most important aspect of the pre‐season. Last year I lost one or two matches due to fatigue, which I don’t want to see happen this year. These were important matches. Maybe at the Australian Open against Daniil (Medvedev), where I was a little sick, in fact, I played with a fever, and then at Roland Garros against Carlos (Alcaraz), where I was tired. And again, I don’t want that to happen again, so yeah, I’ve worked a lot on that aspect. I think this year it will take me longer to adapt to tennis than last year. »
