The Tampa Bay Lightning inflicted a third straight defeat on the New York Rangers on Saturday night.
The Florida club won 6 to 2. It was also a sixth loss in seven outings for the routed team.

The “Bolts”, who will be the next opponents of the Montreal Canadiens, were ruthless with the special teams of the “Blueshirts”. They actually scored twice on the power play and two other times on the penalty kill.
Nikita Kucherov, Ryan McDonagh, Brayden Point (twice), Anthony Cirelli and Nick Paul were responsible for the Lightning’s successes. Igor Shesterkin was foiled five times on 13 shots, while Jonathan Quick gave up once on 12 shots.
In front of the winners’ cage, Andei Vasilevskiy was challenged 44 times. Artemi Panarin and Vincent Trocheck were the skaters who put the puck behind his back.
The Rangers will look to return to winning ways Monday night, when they visit the Florida Panthers at the BB&T Center. The Lightning will host the Habs on Sunday.
