Arriving at OL in 2021 as goalkeeper coach for the reserve team, Olivier Blondel is heading to FC Nantes. He could join Antoine Kombouaré’s staff.
Things are happening in Nantes this winter. 14th in Ligue 1, the Loire club is struggling painfully to maintain its position. For a time, Antoine's future Kombouare among the Canaries has been called into question. Finally, after unsuccessful negotiations with Sergio Conceição et Habib Mr.the current coach will stay in office. But his staff is preparing to evolve. For example, Olivier Blondelcoach of the Lyon reserve goalkeepers, is expected at Jonelière.
The Team specifies that the 45-year-old technician must replace Willy Gurnardwho today has this role with the professional team. Former doorman who played for Toulouse, Troyes, Istres and Strasbourg, Olivier Blondel officiated alongside Gueïda Breathe since July 2021. He would work there with a certain Anthony Lopesalso strongly expected to join the Nantes team.
He still has to reach an agreement with management
Three and a half years later, here he is on his way out, if we are to believe the information from our colleagues. However, for this to be effective, he must find an agreement with the Rhone leaders. The Pro 2 group will then have to reorganize its staff, at least to finish the season.
This would be a new start for the academy during the 2024-2025 financial year, after that of Jordan Gonzalez (U19 coach) in Versailles in November, and that planned for Fabien Caballero (general manager of the training center) in Nice.
