In a press release published this Wednesday, December 25, Raja of Casablanca announced that it had filed a complaint with the Ethics Commission of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, the National Professional Football League and the judicial authorities against Hicham Aït Mana, president of the Wydad Athletic Club. This complaint follows statements described as “irresponsible” made by Aït Mana on Radio Mars.
The Raja considers that these remarks constitute “ a clear violation of article 1 of the Code of Ethics of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation”. The club also believes that they represent “irresponsible behavior damaging to the integrity, reputation and image of national football and its bodies”.
According to the press release, these statements go against the moral and ethical values that any person occupying a position of responsibility, such as that of club president and member of the National Professional Football League, must embody.
The Greens confirmed their intention to take all necessary legal measures, including filing a formal complaint with the relevant judicial authorities, in order to defend the integrity of national football and the image of the club.
Aït Mana's statements, considered controversial, sparked a strong reaction within the sports community. The latter allegedly claimed during a radio broadcast that last season's title had been “stolen” from the AS FAR team. These comments were interpreted by Raja's management as an attack on the credibility and reputation of Moroccan football.
