Kévin Denkey leaves a big void at the forefront of the Cercle attack. The Groen en Zwart will try to replace it this winter.
It was in France that the Circle had been unearthed Kevin Denkey. The Togolese striker arrived for free from Nîmes, where he played little in Ligue 1. 66 goals and 21 assists with Cercle later, he brought in more than 15 million euros to the Bruges treasury.
The leaders had anticipated his departure for some time: the Brazilian Felipe Augusto (paid three million to Corinthians) and the great German hope Paris Brunner (rented to Monaco) arrived during the last two transfer windows.
But they have not yet fully met expectations: Brunner has only scored one goal, Augusto has capped three (including only one in the league). Another attacker should therefore arrive in January, especially given the situation of the team, seriously stuck in the Playdowns.
Still a fairly young profile
According to information from the newspaper L'Equipe, the Circle is working on Steve Ngoura. He is a 19-year-old French center-forward, active in Le Havre. The native of Ivry-sur-Seine made his debut in Ligue 1 last season.
Although he has not found the net this season, L'Equipe describes him as one of the rare bright spots in the gray of Le Havre. If he is not pushed to leave, the club, looking for liquidity, may not oppose his transfer.
