Dakar is preparing to become the nerve center of gaming and geek culture with the holding of E-Fest Africa, an event which will take place on December 28 and 29, 2024. Organized by the SENGAMES association, this international event will be held at the prestigious Théodore Monod Museum (IFAN), located opposite the National Assembly.
E-Fest Africa is not limited to a simple gathering, it celebrates creativity, innovation and African talent in the field of gaming and geek culture. The rich and varied program promises to bring together enthusiasts, curious people and professionals around diverse activities.
On the program, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in or attend renowned e-sports tournaments, including competitions on popular games such as EA FC, Fortnite, Naruto, Tekken 8, Street Fighter 6, Mobile Legends, League of Legends, Rocket League, PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty Mobile.
The festival will also highlight cosplay and manga animations, with cosplay parades, drawing competitions, karaoke, as well as Just Dance activities for fans of fantasy universes and anime. A Free Play & VR space will be dedicated to discovering the latest developments in gaming, offering the possibility of diving into virtual reality experiences and exploring emerging African games.
Visitors will also be able to benefit from interactive exhibitions: they will have the chance to meet creators, explore new works and participate in unique workshops. In addition, inspiring panels will be organized, where experts will discuss captivating topics related to gaming and geek culture, thus stimulating fruitful exchanges between participants. This event marks an important step in the ambition to position Dakar as a major hub for esports and geek culture in Africa. The Théodore Monod Museum will offer an exceptional setting to host this event which expects more than 3,000 participants.
