The work “Un certain regard sur le cinéma” by director Driss Chouika was presented recently in Rabat at a meeting organized by the Academic Institute of Arts under the Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco.
According to the organizers, this meeting is part of the objectives of the restructuring of the Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco, which accords major importance to the arts in all their forms, given their role in raising awareness. artistic in favor of the evolution of societies. The book (370 pages), published in French, includes a compilation of critical articles that were published by the author on the electronic information site “quid.ma”, where Driss Chouika probes, as a “cinephile informed”, the complexities and definitions of cinema, sheds light on its stars, directors and actors and analyzes its objectives and intentions.
Born in El Kelaâ des Sraghna, Driss Chouika obtained a degree in economics and then followed training in cinematographic techniques in Paris. He has directed numerous films, documentaries and plays.
