Annemiek van Vleuten makes his return to the world of Cycling. While she has hung up the bike at the end of the 2023 season, the 42-year-old Dutchwoman will put her experience at the service of Fenix-Deceuninck as performance director. The announcement was made official by the Belgian team during the team presentation in Milan this Friday. The arrival of the former world champion within the management of Fenix-Deceuninck will allow “guide women runners to reach their full potential” the team said in a statement.

A true juggernaut of women's cycling during her 16 years on the bike, Annemiek van Vleuten will bring all “son expertise et son leadership” to the team led by Philip Roodhooftwho wishes with his presence “refine individual and collective performances.” At 42, the Dutchwoman is approaching this new challenge with great enthusiasm. “In the later years of my career, I knew I wanted to work with cyclists and athletes, helping them unlock their potential while maintaining their balance. When Philippe Roodhooft contacted me about joining Fenix-Deceuninck, I was surprised but quickly impressed by the professionalism and their commitment to performance and the human side of sport” she pointed out. “I am excited to contribute to the growth of this talented team. Throughout my career, I have understood the importance of reflection and improvement through trial and error, and I hope to help accelerate this process for the girls in the team. This new role is a fantastic challenge which fits perfectly with my ambition to grow as a coach.
Not one, not two… but three different jerseys for 2025!
Fenix-Deceuninck also took advantage of this meeting in Milan to make big announcements regarding the future of the team since the Belgian team indicated that it had extended its partnership with the title sponsor, Fenixuntil 2027. Other significant changes have been revealed, with the arrival of a new textile equipment manufacturer, gone. A collaboration that gives birth not one but three jerseys for 2025, which will be used at different times of the year as authorized by the UCI. In addition to the blue tunic and the green tunic is added a jersey “rosso namib”. Finally, the training led by Philip Roodhooft revealed the creation of a partnership with the team NXTG Racing dwith the aim of strengthening the attractiveness of women's cycling through this training structure.
