The Criminal Investigation Section West is seeking the public's assistance in locating Abdennour Love, 26 years old.
The man allegedly kidnapped, confined and attempted to kill a woman in Ville de Mont-Royal.
The victim was rescued by Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu firefighters and police officers as his vehicle sank into the Richelieu River.
The suspect was last seen trying to swim out of the submerged vehicle.
Description of the suspect
Abdennour Maalala is a man with black hair and brown eyes.
At the event, he wore black pants, a black coat and red sneakers.
He is 1.83 m tall and speaks in French and English.
