Full payment of accommodation agreements for hotels to accommodate foreign delegations and participants in the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Dakar 2026 will be made one month before the start of this international competition, assured Wednesday in Saly (West), the head of the Joj accommodation department, Ismaïla Dione.
“All hotels and hotel projects that will be put into operation by 2026, we have them in our database. (…) Full payment of agreements with hotels will be made one month before the start of Joj Dakar 2026,” said Mr. Dione, during an information meeting with hoteliers in Saly.
This approach “aims to secure our hotel businesses,” he explained. He specified that this meeting was intended to provide hoteliers with information relating to the organization of the Olympic Games with a view to providing foreign delegations with “accommodation in the best conditions”.
“The need for accommodation is expressed based on accreditation, participant profiles and delegations. So, each category of hotel will have its clientele,” said Mr. Dione.
Boubacar Sabaly, representative of the Federation of Employers' Organizations of Senegal, welcomed this approach which, according to him, will already allow hoteliers to devote themselves “to the success of the event”.
The Joj Dakar 2026, fourth edition, is scheduled from October 31 to November 13, 2026 in Dakar, Diamniadio and Saly.
