After narrowly missing out on the title last season, Anderlecht have the opportunity to win trophies again this season. For the moment, Sporting is competing on three different fronts.
However, the people of Brussels are faced with a recurring problem for which no solution has yet been found. The state of the lawn is once again quite catastrophic and the significant means implemented at the moment are not bearing fruit.
Big means
There is in particular the use of heat lamps which are visible even outside the stadium but which does not improve much. The problem with the lawn is that it is attacked by bacteria and there is also an excessive salt content.
As Het Nieuwsblad reveals, the problem is that nothing can be done in depth during this winter since the truce is particularly short. We will therefore have to wait until next summer for the lawn to be replaced again, hoping that the problems will be resolved this time.
No structural solution
Because if it has consequences on the game proposed, the lawn also causes problems in the infirmary. While Sporting already has to deal with numerous injuries, turf that is not of quality is obviously problematic and does not prevent subsequent injuries as we have seen with Mario Stroeykens.
Engaged in the Belgian Cup, the Europa League and in the running to win the title, Anderlecht will therefore have to make do with a pitch in poor condition to welcome its competitors. David Hubert was also ironic on the subject and did not hesitate to ask those who have them to propose their miracle solution.
