After 25 consecutive years of presidency, Bernard Puech decided to pass the torch to Morgan Nalé, thus opening a new chapter for the TCG.

A renewed management team has been put in place to take over. Affiliated with the Federation since 1953, the local club is preparing to write a new page in its history after the death of its emblematic president Bernard Puech.

“Even though one of my predecessors had worked for 40 years, weariness and wear and tear were beginning to be felt. It was logical to breathe new life into it,” he explains.

When it comes time to take stock, he considers himself satisfied with these multiple mandates. “Many memories remain engraved, such as the twinning continued for three years with the Spanish club of Gork or the title of champion of the Pyrenees allowing the honorary accession. Now, the time has come for renewal, and I am confident in the ability of the new team to carry the colors of Graulhétois tennis loud and clear,” he confides.

To succeed him, Morgan Nalé agreed to take over the reins. Returning to the club in 2017 after cutting his teeth there, he embodies a new generation of leaders. “The old office had resigned in its entirety and there was a real need for renewal. Being well supported was a determining factor in my decision,” he emphasizes.

The new office set up in October also sees the arrival of Benjamin Roux as co-president. Sébastien Chabbert becomes treasurer, while the position of secretary will be held by Christophe Mas.

Several projects are already among the priorities of the new team. “We want to rejuvenate the clubhouse but also relaunch youth competitions,” explains Benjamin Roux.
Another important point, reviving the prospect of a new covered room.

“We have two outdoor courts and one indoor court. This is too little compared to our needs. The creation of a new complex becomes a necessity,” assures Sébastien Chabbert.

It is true that with around a hundred licensees, including three teams in as many senior championships, the Tennis Club has serious assets. The involvement of a qualified coach, Paul Cros, who leads the training, is also a guarantee of quality.

For Morgan Nalé and his team, the objective is clear: combine competitiveness and friendly spirit. “It is essential to maintain the positive image of the club while continuing to develop it.”
