Aldric Lescure, one of the executives of the Columérin locker room, scans the news of Colomiers rugby, between the announcement of the departure of Julien Sarraute and its consequences, the frustrating defeat in Nevers and the poster against Biarritz this Friday evening.
In Nevers, you had a very good first twenty-five minutes before losing track. What happened?
As in every match, there is indiscipline. We didn’t know how to manage the weak times. When the Neversois put pressure on us, they quickly got back into the match. This is where we failed in terms of discipline.
So have you placed particular emphasis on this area of progress this week?
Non, not necessarily. But every weekend we tell ourselves: if we are undisciplined, we cannot win the matches. We had found a little of the commitment that we had been lacking recently away from home and I think we could have brought something back from Nevers. Unfortunately we left with 0 points. It’s a bit frustrating.
This Friday you play Biarritz, sixth in the standings and author of a very good season so far. What should we expect from this team?
We know that it’s the last match before the holidays so they will come without pressure to win. It’s up to us to respond as we know how, with commitment, with better discipline and better management of weak times. The important thing will also be to return home as quickly as possible.
Does playing at 9 p.m., for what constitutes the last match of the first leg, add pressure?
If we lose, we are six points from first relegation. That’s the added pressure. You have to finish correctly to have a peaceful two-week vacation.
Personally, you have looked your best in recent weeks. How do you feel?
I feel good, I’m quite happy to be able to play again, especially since I’m at the end of my contract. So it’s a chance to be able to play. And it’s gone pretty well these last two matches, I hope I can continue.
Before going to face Nevers, your manager Julien Sarraute announced to you that he would no longer be at Colomiers next season. How did this happen? And was there any impact on the match in Nevers?

Pro D2 – La Colombe changes era: report in Colomiers
He told us that it was planned like that, that there was no discomfort. It didn’t change anything for us, we were quite focused in the match. We wanted to do something, and it came to naught at all.
Did that shock you, surprise you perhaps?
It’s rugby, it’s a professional world now so we’re not necessarily surprised. We must adapt to the choices of the president, the coach…
And for you, given that you are at the end of your contract, does that change the situation?
A little because we have to be told how things will go next year. We don’t know, it’s on hold. We’re all kind of waiting. Quite a few players are waiting to see things a little more clearly.
Exactly, where do you stand on this subject? Do you see yourself staying in Colomiers?
It all depends on the staff but if the club also wants it I would like to continue here.
