Finally, there seems to have been a little Christmas magic for the Kansas City Chiefs.
After fearing for the state of health of Patrick Mahomes, while his ankle injury initially suggested that he could have missed one or even games, the Chiefs quarterback participated in all training sessions of the week and his head coach Andry Reid announced that he would be at his post on Saturday against the Houston Texans.
Mahomes suffered his injury in the fourth quarter of the last game against the Cleveland Browns. Early reports suggested an evaluation on a weekly plan, but ultimately, he will be in action as the Chiefs attempt to solidify their hold on first place in the American Association.
The team also received another piece of good news for its fans heading into the game against the Texans.
Receiver Hollywood Brown was active in practice this week and will be removed from injured reserve. According to ESPN, he could be available for the Chiefs’ next game.
Injured since the Chiefs’ first preseason game, Brown went under the knife while waiting to play his first game with Kansas City.
With the Arizona Cardinals last season, Brown caught 51 passes. He played his best season with the Baltimore Ravens in 2021 when he passed the 1,000-yard mark in addition to adding six touchdowns.
The Chiefs (13-1) will try to maintain their first place in the American this weekend.
