32 sports clubs will receive a grant for

On December 11, 2024, the Sports Commission met to notify the Municipality of the allocation of subsidies for sports in Nyon. In all, 32 sports clubs share the sum of CHF 450,000 for the 3,772 young athletes, an average of CHF 113/young person.

Concerning the 13 flagship clubs, total support of CHF 263,733.- was distributed as follows:

  • Nyon Basket Ball Women’s Club (NBF): CHF 50’000.-
  • Basket Ball Club Nyon (BBC) : CHF 50’000.-
  • Cercle d’échecs de Nyon (CEN): CHF 5’299.-
  • FC Stade Nyonnais S.A. : CHF 50’000.-
  • Handball Club Nyon (HBC) : CHF 7’650.-
  • Nyon Handball Club La Côte (NHB): CHF 2’745.-

    By awarding these subsidies, the City of Nyon helps high-level clubs to cover part of their operating costs (excluding salary costs). The costs linked, among other things, to supervision, arbitration, licenses, travel and accommodation are in fact always higher and therefore more difficult to assume.

    This year, the Municipality has decided to support the first NHB La Côte team, promoted in 1era league last June and the CNN women’s water polo team, thus supporting the practice of women in team sports mainly practiced by men.
