Bundee Aki and James Ryan, two important players in the Clover XV, will stay in Ireland until 2026 and 2028. These signings are the continuation of a wave of extensions.

There was Tadhg Furlong and Andrew Porter… now here is Bundee Aki and James Ryan! This Tuesday, the Irish federation announced the contract extension of two of its flagship players in the selection. Thus, the coveted Bundee Aki has signed up for one more year with Connacht. James Ryan will remain a Leinster player until 2028. These extensions are therefore part of the objective of the IRFU and the XV of Clover: that of retaining its executives before the 2027 World Cup.

Among the best centers in the world, Bundee Aki had notably been courted by the Rugby Club Toulonnais several weeks ago. Its extension is a real success for the Irish. The native New Zealander said: “I love playing rugby in Ireland and I think it is the right environment for me to progress as a player.
