On the sidelines of the announcement of the draw for the next African Cup of Nations, CAF unveiled the four hats which will define the groups during the ceremony scheduled for January 27 in Rabat, Wiwsport learned via The Parisian.
As in recent editions, Senegal, currently the second African nation in the FIFA rankings, is in hat 1 along with Morocco (1is African), Egypt (33e), Algeria (37e), you Nigeria (44e) and Ivory Coast (46etitle holder). A position which certainly does not mean that the Lions will not inherit strong opponents for the group stage of the next CAN.
Indeed, looking at the different hats, Senegal could come across a good team from hat 2 like Cameroonthe Malithe Tunisial’South Africa or even the RD Congo. Furthermore, the Lions could also have opponents further down the FIFA rankings but just as interesting such as Gabon or the Zambiapresent in hat 3. It must be said that the Lions will for sure come across an opponent of the size of hat 2. After these, the Lions will have to deal with a fourth adversary like Mozambique, Comoros, Tanzania, Sudan, Zimbabwe and Botswana (hat 4). But as they say, to be champion, you have to beat the best.
