This Sunday was devoted to the semi-finals of the Thénegal Cup.
Gentlemen and ladies were in action to try to win their ticket for the final act of the competition.
The men’s team composed of Maxence Gauvain (captain), Mathieu Soulie and Kevin Jacquot was expected in Figeac. After the singles, only Kevin Jacquot brought home a point, leaving the door to qualification ajar. His two teammates joined forces to compete in the doubles which would determine the final winner. The two Cadurcians could not let their chance slip away and pocketed the two points synonymous with victory. They are therefore qualified for the final which will be played on their land on January 19. The opponent is not yet known.
Among the ladies, Sophie Heduy once again opted for youth by bringing Candice Louis and Camélia Lapeyre with her to Luzech. A bold and winning choice since the two young girls had a flawless performance, each winning their singles and then winning the doubles, together. They will therefore also play the final, on January 18 this time, also in Cahors.
The results of this competition are already very satisfactory since the Cadurcian teams have been struggling to reach these final stages for several years.
