The International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) has included three Moroccan players, Ayoub El Kaabi, Soufiane Rahimi and Samir Hadji, in the list of the world’s top scorers for the year 2024, taking into account their performances from January to end of November.
Ayoub El Kaabi occupies 7th place with a total of 40 goals, including 21 scored with Olympiakos in the Greek championship, 15 in official international club competitions and 4 goals with the Moroccan national team.
Soufiane Rahimi is ranked 34th with 28 goals, scored 24 times for Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates and 4 times for the national team. As for Samir Hadji, he is in 50th position with 26 goals, all scored with F91 Dudelange in Luxembourg.
At the top of the general ranking, Swede Victor Gyökeres, striker of Sporting Lisbon, leads with 59 goals, followed by Norwegian striker Erling Haaland of Manchester City with 47 goals and Englishman Harry Kane of Bayern Munich with 46 goals.
The performances of Moroccan players highlight their remarkable contribution to the international football scene, thus consolidating Morocco’s reputation in the world rankings.
