The reception of a historic rival will allow for the eleventh time in the year 2024 to exceed the mark of 30,000 spectators. Yesterday, 32,500 places were sold for this meeting on the 14th day of the French Ligue 1 Championship. The ticket office has been open to the general public since Monday and in all likelihood, Geoffroy-Guichard will be sold out on Sunday evening. The ASSE stadium should be full at the last moment, the enthusiasm is less strong than during the arrival of the Racing Club de Lens, record of the season (36,832 spectators).
This is the first of three matches for which a price “gala” must be applied. The receptions of Marseille, Lyon and Paris SG are affected. Prices considered prohibitive by many supporters of the Greens and which partly explain this enthusiasm which is not stronger than that. The Forez club, which was considering opening the upper part of the parking lot to gain additional spaces, would have to give it up. On the one hand because of the appeal filed by Olympique de Marseille to denounce the decree published by the Prefect of the Loire and on the other hand because the request does not require it. Likewise, opening balconies for this meeting is also less necessary. The issue remains thorny, the solution proposed by Saint-Étienne Métropole is not fully satisfactory and the system has still not been validated in terms of security.
