A flagship event on the African women’s Golf calendar, the «All Africa Challenge Trophy» is held for the first time in Morocco from November 28 to 30, on the route of Golf of Taghazouthas Agadir. This biennial competition brings together the best amateur golfers from the African continent. No less than 20 nations will be competing during this 16th edition, namely Angola, Botswana, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Mauritius, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe and the host country, the Morocco.
Three Moroccans in the running
The Morocco takes part in «All Africa Challenge Trophy» with a team of three young golfers, including the rising star of Moroccan golf, Sofia Cherif Scale. Aged 15, the Arab champion caused a sensation during the Lalla Meryem Cup by making two cuts against the best players on the Ladies European Tour. The young Moroccan golfer will be accompanied by her compatriots Nadia Sanz Ouezzani et Roman Imniboth residents of the federal “Road To The Tour” program, during the “All Africa Challenge Trophy”. The objective of the Moroccan team is to consolidate the continental position of the Kingdom by repeating the performances obtained during previous participations. Remember that between 2016 and 2022, Morocco took second place in the team rankings, with an individual victory during the last edition in Tanzania.
Morocco wins the Arab Amateur Championship
Moroccan teams distinguished themselves during the 43rd edition of the Arab Amateur Golf Championships which took place from November 20 to 22 in the United Arab Emirates. Moroccan golfers won seven medals out of eight possible in the amateur and senior categories of the tournament. For its part, the amateur team composed of Adam Bresnu, El Mehdi Fakori, Soufiane Dahmane and Hugo Mazen Trometter shone with a cumulative score of -36. Individually, Moroccan golfers particularly distinguished themselves, winning 5 medals out of 6 possible.
