On the sidelines since suffering a knee sprain on September 28 during the preparatory calendar, the 26-year-old forward is taking part in his first training session with a regular jersey alongside the CH.
For several days, he had been participating in exercises with his teammates, but had still not replaced his vest which prevented him from receiving contacts.
Laine should therefore be able to play a first regular season match in a CH uniform in the coming days. However, Martin St-Louis indicated after training that it would be surprising to see him play one of the team’s four games this week.
“I would say no, but…” he simply replied when asked about the chances of number 92 making his debut in the CH uniform this week.
Acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets last August, the Finnish winger was limited to 18 games last season, collecting six goals and nine points in the process.
