LOSC did not disappoint for its 80th anniversary, offering itself the scalp of Stade Rennais (1-0) as a gift to come within one point of the podium. Here are the grades we give to the Mastiffs at the end of this meeting.
Lucas Chevalier (5): A safe strike from a free kick and some kicking: this is the match for the Lille goalkeeper who had nothing to do during these 90 minutes.
Aïssa Mandi (6): Once again established as right-back, the Algerian international was solid in containing Gouiri and the speed of Nagida. He is also very attentive on a fleeing cross within six meters at the end of the game.
Bafode Diakité (5.5): He took over Kalimuendo to manage the few transitions attempted by Rennes and also spent a fairly quiet evening.
Alexsandro (5.5): Like the entire Lille defense, he showed himself solid against the rare opposing incursions and he was responsible for the only goal of the match.
Gabriel Gudmundsson (6.5): He started the meeting very strong with accuracy and quite a few differences made in his lane. The rest of the match was less exciting offensively but he was still just as solid defensively.
Ayyoub Bouaddi (6,5) : The young Lille midfielder was everywhere in the recovery in the first half to direct the game and control the tempo of the match. A little less visible in the second half even if he made some important returns in the midfield.
Benjamin André (6): In a fairly closed match, the Lille captain was important in winning duels but also not exposing himself to dangerous ball losses, which he managed to do well, without embellishment.
Edon Zhegrova (6): Reduced following pain in his adductor muscles, the Kosovar international was involved in all the rare good offensive moves for Lille, from his shot repelled by Mandanda to the goal denied to David for an offside position, including his goal, his eighth of the season in all competitions. A match without brilliance but diligent and rewarded with a goal.
Rémy Cabella (6): Back in the starting lineup for the first time since the trip to Atletico Madrid, the Lille number 10 was often at the origin of Lille situations through his movements and his quality of passing, while keeping his usual volume of play.
Mitchel Bakker (5) : Important on the defensive level where we saw very little of the Rennes right lane, he was useful in holding the ball and his projections without the ball, without however being particularly dangerous with the exception of a nice volley that was too cross.
Jonathan David (5) : The return from the international break did not please the Canadian international, who was seen very little throughout the match but was never stingy with his efforts and races to free his teammates.
