The bad weather played a nasty trick on football players and fans this weekend.

All regional level meetings have been postponed.

The opportunity to come and discover Charlotte Canuone of the rare women in the Dieppe area, to be in charge of a football school.

It’s within the US Luneray and she takes great pleasure in sharing and transmitting her passion.

– Les Informations dieppoises: What was your footballing journey to take the reins of the US Luneray football school today?

– Charlotte Canu: When I was a kid, I went to see the US Luneray senior matches with my father and my grandfather. And I played football with grandpa in his garden on Saturdays. I started playing club football at the age of 12 at US Luneray, in the boys’ teams since there were no girls twenty years ago. I played three seasons at Luneray before signing for Pavilly which had a women’s team. We reached the Division of Honor and I played for twelve years in the Pavillais jersey, until the arrival of COVID which shattered everything.

– How long have you been an educator?

– From the age of 15. When I signed as a player at Pavilly, I retained a license at Luneray to be an educator at the invitation of Hervé Leboucher. I started alongside Frédéric Geneste with the U15B. Afterwards, I was with Hervé (Leboucher) in the U15s and with the seniors B. I was responsible for the U16 women in 2016 then the senior women 8s with the help of Gilles Lefebvre. I passed the BPJEPS (Professional Certificate in Youth, Popular Education and Sport) with US Luneray. This season, I am taking care of the U11 and U15 categories while being with the senior A alongside Arnaud Hébert where I manage the stewardship. I’m at the club all the time and football is my passion!

– And at 33, you are now the first woman in charge of the US Luneray football school…

– Yes, it’s very recent. Julien Villiod wanted to stop and President Frédéric Vaillant did me the honor of placing his trust in me to take this position. I am very grateful to him. I make sure it works as best as possible in categories U6 to U11. This requires a lot of communication. We are taking our young people to the Parc des Princes on November 30 to watch the Ligue 1 match between SG and .

– Wouldn’t you like to coach with the seniors next?

– I don’t know. For now, I’m making sure to learn, particularly from Arnaud (Hébert). I like to see young people discover football, follow the instructions, have fun and progress.
