Algeria Football – In addition to his XXL offensive armada, prodigy Benjamin Bouchouari offers his services to the Moroccan team for CAN 2025.
Benjamin Bouchouari, the promising midfielder of AS Saint-Étienne, has spoken clearly about his desire to join the Moroccan national team for the next African Cup of Nations (CAN) 2025, but with an approach realistic and without excessive pressure.
Winner of the U23 CAN in 2023 and bronze medalist with the Moroccan Olympic team, Bouchouari, aged 23, has not yet had the opportunity to play in the A team. Although he was called up for the friendly matches against Brazil and Peru in March 2023, he has not had any playing time. Since then, the player, who plays in Ligue 1 with AS Saint-Étienne, showed uneven performances. Having passed through Belgium, Ligue 2 and the Dutch second division, he is now faced with the demands of a more competitive championship.
The native of Borgerhout remains pragmatic about his chances of joining the selection for CAN 2025, scheduled for Morocco next year. He is aware that the players currently in the selection have more experience and a head start on him. “Frankly, not at all. What has to happen, will happen. The players who are selected today are ahead of me,” he explained. He emphasizes the importance of continuing to progress at club: “The most important thing is to play and perform well at club. And from there, everything will come by itself. »
Bouchouari, while remaining optimistic, prefers not to put unnecessary pressure on himself and wishes to concentrate on his personal development, while letting time do the rest.
