HIGHLIGHTS

Opener today, Ott Tänak immediately put in a great performance by managing to score the scratch. Behind him, the Toyotas of Rovanperä and Evans are close, as is Adrien Fourmaux, pushed back just four seconds. For this first special, everyone used 4 soft tires while Sesks and Munster were the only ones to take two spare wheels on hard tires.

For his part, Andreas Mikkelsen lost around fifty seconds due to a puncture and lost two places overall. In the hunt for big points for this super-Sunday, Thierry Neuville is a modest fifth, more than six tenths per kilometer from Tänak.

In WRC2, Josh McErlean, then battling with Pierre-Louis Loubet for fourth place, tore off a wheel just before the cell. The Irishman had to retire. Author of the scratch, Robert Virves took back second place against Oliver Solberg.

O. Thank you 10:43.5	In these conditions, with our position on the road, we cannot do more than that. In the winding sections, we lacked grip.
T.Katsuta 11:09.4	There is nothing special. I want to keep the tires in good condition for the Power Stage. With yesterday’s pace, it’s not enough to score additional points. So I’m just focusing on the Power Stage.
G.Munster 11:08.2	It’s very twisty, lots of trees and stones. So you have to be careful where you put your wheels. Also, the ground is quite soft and there’s no lateral grip. I made some mistakes and it’s not a good stage for us.
T.Neuville 10:56.0	I can’t do his (Tänak) time, that’s for sure. I did a good stage, but I can’t do more than that for the moment, I’m at my own pace.
M.Sesks 11:01.6	It was very slippery. We made sure because we have no reason to rush. For now, everything is fine.
A.Fourmaux 10:47.9	I’m very happy with my pace this morning. I have to congratulate Ott for achieving this time by being first on the road. For us, it was a very good run, I’m happy. The road is so narrow and the trees are very close, so I didn’t want to make a mistake. Tänak is just on another level.
E.Evans 10:46.0	I’m not completely satisfied with my stage, it was difficult. Tänak’s weather is good.
A. Mikkelsen 11:38.2	There are so many embankments here. We hit one and it knocked the tire off the road. We tried to keep the pressure on Kalle and keep the pace, but that’s the game. Now it doesn’t matter for the final result, so we just have to finish the rally.
K. Rovanperä 11:13.4	The main thing is that we keep our heads. You can imagine how good Tänak was in this stage being first on the road. These guys were able to do the specials before. This was all new to us, but it’s a decent special.
S. Pajari	It was pretty clean and good. I tried to attack where I felt it was good.
O.Solberg	Very slippery, the rear slides a lot. I was a little cautious mid-stage where it was very narrow. The goal is not to try to catch up with the first, I can’t compete with the Toyota or Pajari.
R.Virves	Overall I think it was pretty good, but I still made some amateur mistakes. It wasn’t an easy stage. We need to work on the notes. I messed up at a junction.
