Heavyweights, the “future” of Pereira

An expeditious belt defense like his reign in this light heavyweight category: 4 belt defenses in less than a year including 3 KOs in a row over Prochazka, twice, and Jamahal Hill. Before expressly cleaning up the -93kgs category, Pereira was already the author of a previous reign at middleweight. This time, the Brazilian is aiming for a new challenge: moving up to heavyweight and becoming even more legendary by becoming the first triple champion in UFC history.

“It’s my future! I showed my interest (to move up in category) the last time already (in April after his knockout against Jamahal Hill), but the organization didn’t seem ready at the time… Yes the public wants me to go up, I will!” Pereira said at Joe Rogan’s microphone, under the din of a packed T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas (Nevada).
