Leclerc accepts his mistake in Q3: “I’m not doing the work”

While he seemed to be recovering after a sluggish start to the weekend, Charles Leclerc was unable to complete his efforts this Saturday. On the attack for his last flying lap, the Monegasque missed the sequence of turns 9 and 10, and went to visit the outside of the tarmac.

A passage off the coast due in particular to an error made a few moments before which forced him to overdrive in the hope of being at the forefront, and therefore to be at the limit. A poor performance for which he considers himself solely responsible.

« Unfortunately, in Q3 it was my fault.he replied https://twitter.com/CanalplusF1/status/1807071556431966267, without making excuses. I don’t do the work. On the first run I do the work because I’m on a worn set of tires. On the second run I lock up at turn 4 and then the rest of the lap it was about trying to recover what I lost in that corner.

It’s a shame because the lap looked pretty good up until then. I don’t know if for a front row but anyway… In any case, with the ifs we could have done a lot of things. The result is that we had to change the car quite a bit (between the Sprint and the qualifications). We took the right direction but I didn’t do the job in Q3. » 6th on the grid this Sunday, Charles Leclerc will have the opportunity to catch up from 3:00 p.m.
