OL faces severe financial sanctions from the DNCG, including a recruitment ban and threat of demotion

L’Olympique Lyonnais is going through a period of turbulence, with severe sanctions imposed by the DNCG. This situation worries several observers. However, the coach of FC , Antoine Kombouaré remains optimistic about the future of the club. The question of relegation, although raised by the financial authorities, seems far from frightening the owner of OL, John Textor.

A critical situation: OL under threat from the DNCG

The club faces a series of financial challenges. The ban on recruitment during the winter transfer window and the threat of demotion to Ligue 2 weigh heavily on the immediate future of Olympique Lyonnais. These sanctions follow an analysis of the club's financial situation, considered worrying by the DNCG. The latter expressed serious concerns about the club's debt and its inability to balance its finances.

In addition to the recruitment ban, OL faces the threat of demotion to Ligue 2. This sanction was decided as a precautionary measure, but it remains a source of concern for the club's supporters. However, John Textor, the club's owner, tried to downplay this threat. He claims that OL's financial resources were sufficient to avoid such an outcome.

Antoine Kombouaré: measured optimism

Antoine Kombouaré, the coach of FC Nantes, expressed his astonishment at OL's situation. Despite the difficulties faced by Lyon, he remains convinced that the club will be able to avoid relegation thanks to the involvement of John Textor.

“To tell you the truth, we have so many problems with my team and our results that it doesn’t concern us. We are immersed in our difficulties. But I was really surprised to learn of the first decision concerning OL on a move down to Ligue 2. I find it hard to believe it and I tell myself that the American there will always find a solution. »

Kombouaré stressed that he did not feel directly concerned by OL's financial problems, given that his team itself is mired in a series of poor results.
