Sport? What sport? The one you play or the one you watch on TV or on the internet? Of course, it’s possible that it’s the same. We know that tennis players generally don’t miss the Roland-Garros tournament…

The fact remains that the two types of relationship to sport do not mobilize the same energies.

Watching sport is admiring, thrilling, betting. The spectacle of high-level sport reinforces the idea that we belong to a magnificent species. The bodies of athletes reassure us of our own possibilities, even if they are unexploited. By watching sport, we easily convince ourselves that all limits can be pushed back to infinity. In this regard, the Paralympic Games provide yet another example of our ability to overcome all obstacles, even those of illness or disability.
