At the end of the contract, Griedge Mbock will ultimately not extend to OL, despite having given his agreement. The French defender said goodbye to the club and its supporters on Sunday.

On this Monday, July 1, the summer transfer window is officially open in women’s D1. This should give rise to the first movements, even if some did not wait to sign players. In the coming hours, the PSG expected to announce signing of Griedge Mbock for the coming seasons. Because yes, the French defender has chosen to turn her back on nine seasons at OL and take advantage of her status as a free player to join the Parisian rival.

A turnaround after having given his agreement to extend the adventure between Rhône and Saône and thus reach the decade mark. This will not be the case as the club indicated on Saturday. After 20 titles won with the Fenottes, Mbock will open a new chapter in his career and bid farewell to theOL in a long message published on his social networks on Sunday.

“9 years… 9 years of my life and my professional career dedicated to this city and to OL women. There will have been a lot of success, victories, titles, joy, unforgettable moments shared with this incredible group that has never stopped reinventing itself. I am proud to have been able to contribute to writing the history of the club and to have always fought to make its colors shine.

I also experienced more complicated moments there, including serious injuries that you know about, ordeals which made me stronger and which revealed to me how resilient I could be.

Olympique Lyonnais has given me a lot since the day President Aulas – whom I can never thank enough – came to pick me up from the EAG in my native Brittany. I sincerely hope that I have given back to this man and this club what they gave me.

Today is a new stage in my life and in my career which begins. I am writing to you to announce my departure from OL, and I would like to thank all the incredible people I was able to meet there, from the management to the office, including the staff, the stewards and all the people who work in shadow on a daily basis so that we can work in good conditions and who actively participate in the success of this institution.

Thanks also to the different staffs with whom I was able to work, who always trusted me and who allowed me to become the player I am today.

Of course, my adventure here would not have been the same without my past and present teammates who have given me so much, both on the field and in life. You have made me grow and have always supported me, especially in the most complicated moments of my career.

Thank you, I wish you all the best in your careers and in your respective lives. Know in any case that you will remain FOREVER in my heart.

Dear supporters, OL Ang’elles, Kop Fenottes and so many other people who have always been there, simply THANK YOU.”
