The Fez-Meknes region is hosting the CRT Cup golf until this Thursday, an international event intended to promote the region as a leading golf destination. Result of a collaboration between the Regional Tourism Council (CRT) Fez-Meknes, the Regional Council, the Ministry of Tourism via the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT), MADAEF Golf of the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG) and several private partners, the CRT Cup golf aims to be a showcase for the tourist, cultural and gastronomic assets of Fez-Meknes, thus being part of the royal vision of making Morocco a major player in the international sport.

Ahmed Sentissi, president of the CRT Fès-Meknes, did not hide his satisfaction during the launching ceremony of this competition, which was held on Sunday in Fez. The objective is to make Fez-Meknes, like Marrakech and Agadir, a major golf destination on a national and international scale. With four quality golf courses (18 holes each), including the Royal Golf de Fès, Oued Fès Golf, the Michlifen Resort & Golf d’Ifrane and the Royal Golf de Meknès, the region has considerable assets to attract golfers . The route will allow participants to cross the three emblematic towns of the region, thus offering a complete panorama of its riches.

CRT Cup golf: A response to the need for entertainment Abdellah Lamniai, regional delegate for Tourism in Fez, underlined the importance of this type of event for the tourism development of the region. He also highlighted the presence of four golf courses in the region, two in Fez, one in Ifrane and one in Meknes, which constitutes significant potential for attracting a tourist clientele passionate about golf.

Valérie Fourneyron, former French Minister of Sports, welcomed the initiative, describing it as a major event that is part of the dynamic of sport as a geopolitical force. She confirmed the importance of sport in Morocco’s international influence, particularly in the context of the organization of the African Cup of Nations in 2025 and the 2030 World Cup. She also insisted on the role of tourism in the local economy and congratulated Morocco for its tourism strategy, seeing the participants in the CRT Cup golf as true ambassadors of the country.
