The former French international, Djibril Cissé, the main weakness of the French selection.

The French team has invited itself to the second round of the European Championship, where it will face Belgium next Monday. But, it was without really convincing. Its performances were quite disappointing and no individual really emerged to pull the team up.

Djibril Cissé, former French international, was asked to make this diagnosis on this performance. For him, the problem lies essentially in the fact that the Blues no longer have players who show the way on a technical level, as Zidane, Henry or Griezmann were able to do in the past.

Cissé does not see a technical leader

“There are two types of leaders. There is the one who speaks, who inspires this desire and there is the technical leaderhe began by explaining on the L’Equipe channel. And it’s more the second leader that they lack. The one who takes the ball and provokes it. There’s N’Golo Kanté who did it a little and that’s it.”

And when asked if the group is also missing a locker room boss, Cissé retorts: “ No, they motivate each other on the pitch. These kinds of leaders are easier to overplay. There, you need someone who every time he has the ball brings something and makes his teammates want to be better. What was Griezmann before.”

Unfortunately, “Griezou” is no longer as impactful. His Euro is even quite disappointing. And this notably pushed Didier Deschamps not to line him up during the last group match against Poland. Will he find his brilliance again during the knockout phase? The question remains unanswered.
