After dominating the Mahorese team of the Diables Noirs de Combani (R1) throughout the match, the Cortenais ended up finding the fault in the 85th minute.
The deliverance came from a shot into the top corner of Samba Tamboura. A luminous strike which made the Santos-Manfredi stadium explode with happiness.
A few minutes later, in stoppage time, Christophe Boussembart added a second goal, definitively validating the ticket of David Faderne’s men for the 32nd finals of the Coupe de France.
This is the second time in its history that USC Corte (N3) has managed to reach this level of the competition, the one which sees the entry of Ligue 1 clubs.
The draw for the next round will take place on December 2.
