Accompanied by his deputies Christophe Hardy et Eric Bessonthe mayor, Louis Feuvrier, wanted to recall in the preamble, the eminently sporting character of Fougères (Ille-et-Vilaine): “Over the last ten years, memberships have increased by 30%. It is the result of a triple commitment, from schools and associations, parents and the City which provides quality facilities. Fougères offers a sports equipment for 400 inhabitants, which allows it to obtain the Active and Sporty Town label with 4 laurels like 5 other Breton towns and 56 French towns. »
The councilor also recalled the City’s aid to young people: a boost for 6-10 year olds and subsidies for young high-level athletes.
Sixteen schoolchildren, twelve members of distinguished clubs
Representatives of the municipality then presented a gift symbolic (a Fougères loves sport t-shirt and a water bottle) to the 28 young people honored for their talent.
Not without Louis Feuvrier, the first magistrate, recalling the reasons for their distinction:
You carry the essential values of respect, solidarity, fraternity and fair play.
On an academic basis, the artistic gymnastics team from Sainte-Marie college made up of Léna Boura, Armance Rivière, Manon Bonnet and Léna Rousseau was distinguished for its title of champion of France, Léna Boura adding the individual title. Sainte-Marie won three other French championship titles with Timéo Goupil (artistic floor gymnastics) Liya Bossard (rhythmic gymnastics) and the duo Sybille Rondin – Rose Noël (rhythmic gymnastics).
For the Jeanne-d’Arc college, Mathis Guérault, French minimal table tennis champion and the French champion badminton team composed of Nolann Barbedette, Louison Bossard, Lily Garnier, Eulalie Hubert, Élisa Meigné, Djanaël Vitellius, Angelina Garcia, were rewarded.
For sports club members, the names were better known because most played at the international level. Léna Auvray, a regular here, appreciated this invitation: “It’s nice because it allows you to recall the results of a season and to meet other athletes who are performing to get to know them. » The recipients represented six clubs and had very good references.
Léna Auvray (Vigilante) was crowned French junior champion, 4th at the European championship, 18th and 24th at the world championships in Turkey and Peru. Lenny Hubert of the Fougères Badminton Club won two European championship titles and became three-time French champion. The Seigneur sisters of the COCF were honored for their results in BMX: Louise, French champion and 1st at the Vigo festival (Spain), Jeanne 3rd at the French championship and in Vigo. The Twirling Club of Fougères was not left out with Maëlla Gobé, world champion in Helsingborg (Sweden) with the French team and Sybille Rondin, 13th at these same world championships. Kaëlig Bourserie and Mehdi Hatchane (TCF) were distinguished for their participation in the European Cup in Croatia. For the Fougerais Swimming Circle (CNF), Eva Jourdan (2nd in the U17 national ranking and 26th in the French Elite championship) and Maxence Viel (three-time youngest French champion) were honored. Alexis Paysant (Alliance Judo Fougères) 3rd in the national cadet ranking and Maëlys Messé (Table tennis Fougères Javené Lécousse) vice-champion of France and present at the French and Belgian Opens were also distinguished.
And Louis Feuvrier concludes “You represent in a beautiful way for the City, your associations or educational establishments. Thank you very much for your commitment. »
