Tennis | Maxime Janvier’s new iconic celebration

French tennis is full of fantastic players of all kinds, from Benoît Paire to Corentin Moutet, including Maxime Janvier. Indeed, the latter has just won his credentials during the Wimbledon qualifications. His favorite move? Unique celebrations on the circuit.

While some people think that Wimbledon starts in a few days, they don’t know that the English Grand Slam has already started for several days. Indeed, the famous qualifications are in full swing as they are every year. And for this 137th edition of the grass tournament, the Frenchies are selling us a dream. And one man in particular: Maxime Janvier.

Maxime Janvier has three goals: money, money and money.

Usually, we celebrate the losses of French athletes, we teach you nothing. But with Maxime Janvier, 27 years old and 225th in the world, it’s a little different. The native of Gouvieux is our blind spot of loss. Our Achilles heel. And for good reason, with each of his victories, Maxime offers us a great moment of tennis. Thrills guaranteed.

If his victory in the first round of qualifying against the Taiwanese Hsu Yu-hsiou went unnoticed, his second was not. After a 7-6 6-3 victory against the American Emilio Nava in the second round, Maxime Janvier was able to let his joy explode. The Frenchman is delighted, as is his bank account. A little over 47,000 euros in his bag. The thunaaaaaasse.

Then comes the third round against Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, 59th player in the world. This Franco-French duel is a zero-sum game for the FFL. Trailing by a set and then a break against in the second set, Maxime Janvier does not give up and manages to turn the situation around against the recent winner of the Lyon tournament. A 6-7, 7-5, 7-6, 7-6 success that allows Janvier to qualify for his very first main draw at Wimbledon. And of course, who says new victory on the London grass, says new iconic celebration from the Tennis Club de Gien player. Benoît Paire’s successor is ready.

Totally hyped by his celebrations

With this fourth qualification in his career in a Grand Slam main draw, Maxime Janvier collects the tidy sum of 71,800 euros. One might think that the pleasure of winning a tennis match surpasses these apothecary accounts; not at all. The Frenchman himself confirms it; it is indeed the money that allows him to surpass himself on a court. And which is his main source of motivation. We like this frankness.

“If it wasn’t for the financial carrot, I would have stopped a long time ago” Maxime Janvier

The one who claims to be a “tennis minimum wage” was close to hanging up his racket in the past. But the lure of gain decided otherwise. In any case, Maxime Janvier raises, in his own way, a problem often highlighted by many tennis players.

“When everything is going well, when you are Zverev, Alcaraz, of course you love the game. Musetti who says he is passionate about this sport… These guys make me laugh. They have not been to the depths of Kazakhstan” Maxime Janvier

In the meantime, we’re already looking forward to discovering Maxime Janvier’s new celebration on the London lawn. But there shouldn’t be too many of them either, we have an editorial line to follow behind.
