Genève-Servette qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League. In the return match, the Eagles dominated Lausanne 7-4 after winning the first leg 5-0.
There was no real suspense after the gap opened at the end of the first match at Malley. For the Grenat, it was necessary to manage, and for the Vaudois it was necessary to show something other than the performance of eight days ago.
Praplan quadruplet
Geoff Ward’s players started the game by taking advantage of an error by Praplan to open the scoring through Riat (2nd). But Geneva reacted well by responding twice with Palve (7th) and Praplan (8th), who was forgiven for his blunder.
The Valaisan even decided to go into super warrior mode in this meeting. He thus added three goals to his total (24th, 42nd and 48th) for a tasty quadruplet. The man who re-signed for four years with the Eagles has therefore scored more goals in a CHL game than in 16 National League games (3).
In Lausanne, we preserved Kevin Pasche by replacing him with Antoine Keller after two thirds. The French goalkeeper conceded four goals! In the garnet ranks, we will monitor the state of health of Sakari Manninen who had to leave his partners during the third period.
