The Casablanca derby rescheduled for 6 p.m.

Initially scheduled for 4 p.m., the Casablanca derby between Raja and Wydad should take place at 6 p.m., the National Professional League announced in a press release.

The decision to change the schedule of the meeting between the two enemy clubs of the economic capital comes following discontent expressed by supporters on social networks.

Indeed, in comments published on social networks, fans criticized the decision to schedule this clash, considered one of the summits of national football and a showcase to attract new audiences, at a time considered inappropriate.

They believe that this slot, coinciding with work and study hours, and only two hours after Friday prayers, could harm the usual enthusiasm for this meeting, already losing prestige internationally.

The Professional League confirmed that this amendment aims to facilitate organizational procedures and ensure that the match takes place in appropriate conditions, while underlining its commitment to implement the agreed decisions to ensure the success of this major sporting event .

Abdessalam Belkchour, president of the National Professional Football League explained, in a radio statement, that after being informed of the decision to play the match behind closed doors, he immediately contacted the partners concerned to adjust the schedule , emphasizing that this had “no no sense in scheduling a match without an audience on a Friday at 4 p.m..”

“We want everyone to understand that our goal is not to downplay the importance of the Botola Pro or to schedule crucial matches at inappropriate times. We are fully committed to managing national football seriously and professionally, in everything that serves the interests of Moroccan football,” says the leader.
