The Canadian tennis team for this summer’s Paris Olympics was revealed Thursday.

Quebecers Félix Auger-Aliassime and Leylah Annie Fernandez will be in action in singles, as will Bianca Andreescu and Milos Raonic who will complete the contingent for this facet of the competition.

Gabriela Dabrowski joins the team for the doubles, where she will play with Fernandez. Auger-Aliassime and Raonic are expected to team up in the men’s division.

With 17th place in the ATP rankings, Auger-Aliassime has just reached the round of 16 on the clay of Roland-Garros, the site where the event will take place at the Olympic Games.

Fernandez is having good times on the circuit with participation in the semi-final of the Eastbourne tournament (on grass). The 30th racket in the world lost its flag in the third round in Paris this year to Ons Jabeur.

“I had a great time at the Tokyo Games and I’m looking forward to joining the rest of the team in Paris,” said Fernandez. “It’s a great experience when you can meet and spend time with athletes from other disciplines. Normally, we each focus on our own sports, but the Games give us all the chance to get to know each other and come together as one big family.”

Andreescu and Raonic used their protected rankings to secure their spot at the Olympics.

Andreescu made her return to action at Roland Garros this year, reaching the third round. As for Raonic, who has played two tournaments on grass since his appearance at Indian Wells has not played a clay court event this season.

Denis Shapovalov is not in the lineup. He has not played since Stuttgart earlier this month. He is ranked 120th in the rankings.
